Comments

SceneItAll supports scene-level comments, letting your team discuss specific parts of the script without leaving the app.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a project member. Members and admins can post comments; viewers can read them but cannot post.

Opening the Comments Panel

Click a scene heading in the script body to open the comments panel on the right side of the screen. The panel header shows “Comments Scene 5A” (or whichever scene you selected).

Reading Comments

Each comment shows:

  • Avatar — A colored circle with the author’s initial.
  • Author name — Bold, next to the avatar.
  • Timestamp — How long ago the comment was posted (e.g., “2h”, “30m”, “now”).
  • Content — The comment text.
  • Like button — A heart icon with a like count. Click to toggle your like.

If a scene has no comments, the panel shows “No comments on this scene yet.”

Adding a Comment

  1. Open the comments panel for a scene.
  2. Type your comment in the input field at the bottom (“Add a comment…”).
  3. Click the send icon or press Enter.

The comment appears immediately in the list.

Editing a Comment

You can edit your own comments (admins can edit any comment):

  1. Find the comment you want to edit.
  2. Click the “Edit” link below the comment.
  3. The comment switches to an editable text field.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Click “Save” to apply or “Cancel” to discard.

Deleting a Comment

  1. Find the comment you want to delete.
  2. Click the “Delete” link below the comment.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

You can delete your own comments. Admins can delete any comment.

Closing the Panel

Click the X button in the panel header to close the comments panel and return to the full-width script view.

Tips

  • Comments are tied to specific scenes, so they stay relevant even as the script is revised.
  • Use comments to flag issues, ask questions, or note production concerns about specific scenes.
  • The like button is useful for acknowledging comments without adding noise to the discussion.
