DOOD Export

DOOD Export

A Day-Out-Of-Days (DOOD) is a standard production chart showing which cast or crew members are needed on each shooting day. SceneItAll provides both an interactive DOOD view within the Schedule section and downloadable PDF exports.

What is a DOOD?

The DOOD chart shows:

  • Rows: One per cast/crew member or element.
  • Columns: One per shooting day.
  • Cells: Color-coded status codes indicating each person’s requirement for that day.

Interactive DOOD View

The Schedule section includes a DOOD tab that shows the full matrix in-app. You can scroll horizontally and vertically to view all elements across all shoot days. The DOOD view pulls data from the active scenario’s schedule.

For the full interactive DOOD documentation, see Schedule — DOOD.

Exporting a DOOD

  1. Go to the Crew section and select the Availability tab.
  2. Click the “Export DOOD” button in the header.
  3. The export dialog opens with element type options.

Choosing what to include

The dialog shows a scrollable checklist of element types — one checkbox per type (Characters, Stunts, Extras, Vehicles, and so on), each with its type color and icon. Tick the types you want in the report.

  • Characters is selected by default.
  • Use the Select All / Deselect All toggle in the top-right of the list to flip every type at once.

Downloading

  1. Tick the element types to include.
  2. Click “Export PDF (N)” — N is the number of types you’ve selected.
  3. The PDF is generated on the server and downloaded to your browser.

A toast notification confirms when the export is ready.

Tips

  • Selecting every element type gives a complete overview, but the report can get large for productions with lots of people.
  • DOOD reports pull from your schedule data, so make sure strips are assigned to shoot days before exporting.
  • Generate a new DOOD whenever the schedule changes significantly.
