Getting Started

Find your way around the app

Use the main navigation to move between your scripts, breakdowns, crew, schedules, and reports.

On a computer, the navigation appears on the left. On phones and smaller windows, the main sections appear along the bottom of the screen.

If you prefer a visual introduction, the optional getting-started video follows the connected workflow from Script to production reports. You can replay it from Account → Getting-started video in Settings.

Move between sections

The full web app has six main sections:

  1. Dashboard — see an overview of your project.
  2. Scripts — read, upload, and compare scripts.
  3. Breakdown — add the cast, props, locations, and other elements needed for each scene.
  4. Crew — manage cast, crew, departments, availability, and mailing lists.
  5. Schedule — arrange scenes into shoot days and check for conflicts.
  6. Reports — create call sheets, sides, schedules, and other production documents.

On phones and smaller windows, the bottom navigation provides quick access to Dashboard, Scripts, Schedule, and Reports. Use the full web app when you need to manage Breakdown or Crew.

Use the sidebar

On a computer, the sidebar runs down the left side of the screen. Select an icon to open a section. The highlighted icon shows where you are.

At the bottom of the sidebar:

  • Tasks opens your task list.
  • The eye shows or hides helpful color guides.
  • Settings opens your project and account settings.

On phones, Tasks and Settings appear in the top bar instead.

Use the top bar

The top bar gives you quick access to common actions and your current project.

Depending on where you are in the app, you may see:

  • Report a bug — describe a problem and attach a screenshot.
  • Undo and Redo — reverse or restore recent changes.
  • Access — appears when you have view-only access.
  • Writers live — shows when other people are currently working in the project.
  • Revision selector — switch between script revisions while you are in Scripts.
  • Episode selector — switch episodes in a TV series.
  • Project selector — switch projects or choose your default project.
  • Credit — check your AI usage balance and open billing.
  • Notifications — view recent updates.
  • Tasks — open your task list on smaller screens.
  • Theme — switch between light and dark mode.
  • Avatar — open your account menu.

If SceneItAll asks you to sign in after you open an invitation or shared link, it takes you back to that link when you finish.

Open your account menu

Select your avatar to open the account menu. It shows your name and email, followed by:

  • MCP Connection — opens the AI Connector settings for supported AI assistants.
  • Profile Settings — opens your account settings, where you can change your display name or language, watch the getting-started video, sign out, or delete your account.

View notifications

Select the notification bell to see recent updates. Notifications can tell you when:

  • An AI task finishes.
  • A proposal is ready for review.
  • Someone comments or mentions you.
  • Your account needs attention.

Select a notification to open the related item.

Follow an AI task

When an AI task is running, a progress bar appears below the top bar. You can continue working elsewhere while it finishes. The progress bar disappears when the task is complete.

Change the appearance

Select the Theme button in the top bar to switch between light and dark mode. SceneItAll remembers your choice.
