Navigating the App

SceneItAll is organized around a consistent layout: a top bar for global actions and a sidebar (or bottom navigation on smaller screens) for switching between sections.

The Top Bar

The top bar runs across the top of every screen. It has a left cluster (branding and editing tools) and a right cluster (project context and account controls).

The Sidebar

On screens 600px or wider, a vertical sidebar appears on the left side. It contains icon buttons for the six main sections:

  1. Dashboard — Project overview: KPIs, schedule progress, activity feed, shortcuts, and tasks.
  2. Scripts — Read, upload, and compare scripts.
  3. Breakdown — Break down scenes into elements and crew needs.
  4. Crew — Cast and crew directories, departments, availability, mailing lists.
  5. Schedule — Strip board scheduling, scenarios, DOOD, conflict detection.
  6. Reports — Generate production documents (call sheets, sides, DPR, DOOD, one-liner, full schedule).

Hover over any icon to see its label as a tooltip. The active section is highlighted.

A settings cog sits at the bottom of the sidebar — use it to open project and account settings. On phones (where there is no sidebar) this cog moves up into the top bar.

Mobile Navigation

On screens narrower than 600px (phones), the sidebar is replaced by a bottom navigation bar with the same six tabs. Each tab shows an icon and a label.

Responsive Layout

SceneItAll adapts its layout based on your screen width:

Screen WidthLayout
Under 600pxBottom navigation bar, single-column layout
600px — 899pxSidebar visible, main content area
900px and aboveSidebar + additional panels (e.g., the episode panel in the Scripts section)

Notifications

The notification bell in the top bar shows a red badge when you have unread notifications. Click the bell to open a dropdown list of recent notifications. Notifications include:

  • AI detection jobs completing
  • New proposals ready for review
  • Comments and mentions
  • Credit balance warnings

Clicking a notification takes you directly to the relevant content.

AI Job Status Bar

When an AI job is running in the background (such as element detection or continuity checking), a status bar appears below the top bar. It shows the current job’s progress and disappears when the job finishes.

Light and Dark Mode

Click the theme toggle button in the top bar to switch between light and dark mode. Your preference is saved and persists across sessions.
