Managing Scenarios
Managing Scenarios
Scenarios let you create and compare multiple versions of your schedule. You might create a “Main Schedule,” a “Weather Cover” backup, or a “Revised Order” after location changes.
The Scenario Bar
At the top of the Schedule screen, the scenario bar shows all scenarios as horizontal pills. The active scenario is highlighted with a dark background. A locked scenario shows a green “LOCKED” badge.
Click any scenario pill to switch to it. The strip board, DOOD, and calendar views all update to reflect the selected scenario.
Creating a Scenario
- Click the ”+” button at the right end of the scenario bar.
- Enter a name in the dialog that appears.
- Click Create.
The new scenario starts empty. You can then generate strips and schedule them from scratch.
Duplicating a Scenario
To copy an existing scenario (including all its days and strips):
- Click the three-dot menu on the scenario pill you want to copy.
- Select Duplicate.
- Enter a name for the copy.
This is useful when you want to try rearranging scenes without losing your current schedule.
Renaming a Scenario
- Click the three-dot menu on the scenario pill.
- Select Rename.
- Enter the new name and confirm.
Locking and Unlocking
Locking a scenario prevents any changes to its schedule. When a scenario is locked:
- Drag-and-drop is disabled.
- The “Add Shoot Day,” “Create Strips,” and other mutation buttons are hidden.
- A green “LOCKED” badge appears on the scenario pill.
- A locked banner appears at the top of the strip board.
To lock or unlock:
- Click the three-dot menu on the scenario pill.
- Select Lock or Unlock.
Locking requires Admin or Owner permissions.
Deleting a Scenario
- Click the three-dot menu on the scenario pill.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
Deleting a scenario removes all its days, strips, and associated data. This cannot be undone.
Comparing Scenarios
Use the Compare tab to see the differences between two scenarios side by side. See Compare scenarios for details.
Tips
- Keep your main schedule locked once it’s finalized to prevent accidental changes.
- Duplicate a scenario before making major changes so you can revert if needed.
- Use descriptive names (e.g., “Week 3 — Weather Cover”) to keep scenarios organized.
