Managing Days

Managing Days

Shoot days are the building blocks of your schedule. Each day has a number, an optional calendar date, a type, and a set of strips representing the scenes to be filmed that day.

Creating a Day

  1. Click “Add Shoot Day” in the strip board toolbar.
  2. Fill in the day details:
    • Day number — Sequential number (auto-incremented from the last day).
    • Calendar date — The actual date this day will shoot (optional).
    • Day type — The kind of day (see below).
    • Crew call — The time the crew is expected on set.
    • Primary location — The main filming location for the day.
    • Notes — Any additional information.
  3. Click Create.

You can also add a day when the strip board is empty by clicking the “Add Day” prompt.

Click the three-dot menu on a day banner and select View Summary to see aggregated statistics:

  • Total pages scheduled
  • Remaining pages
  • Cast and extras counts

Lunch Warnings

When the schedule detects that a meal break may be overdue (based on your conflict rules), an amber “Lunch” pill appears on the day banner. Click it to acknowledge the warning and add a note explaining why it’s acceptable. Acknowledged warnings turn green.

Adding Banners to a Day

Banners are non-scene rows within a shoot day that mark events or transitions.

  1. Click the three-dot menu on the day banner.
  2. Select Add Banner.
  3. Choose the banner type and enter text.
