Find your way around the app
SceneItAll uses one consistent layout: a top bar across the top for global controls, and a sidebar (or bottom navigation on narrow screens) for moving between the six sections. This guide names every control so you can find it fast.
Move between sections
The six sections are always one tap away.
On screens 600px and wider, a sidebar runs down the left edge with an icon for each section. Hover an icon to see its label; the active section is highlighted. The sections, top to bottom, are:
- Dashboard — your project summary.
- Scripts — read, upload, and compare scripts.
- Breakdown — break scenes into elements.
- Crew — cast and crew directories, departments, availability, and mailing lists.
- Schedule — the strip board, scenarios, and conflict detection.
- Reports — generate production documents.
On screens narrower than 600px, the sidebar is replaced by a bottom navigation bar with the same six tabs, each showing an icon and label.

Three global controls sit at the bottom of the desktop sidebar:
- Tasks opens a left-side task panel from any section. On phones, Tasks is in the top bar and opens full-width.
- The color-key eye hides or shows contextual color-key cards, such as the strip-color keys on Breakdown and Schedule. The preference applies across pages and is remembered on this device.
- The settings cog opens project and account settings. Settings opens on the page that matches your current app section, and the settings navigation scrolls the highlighted page into view. On phones, where there is no sidebar, the cog moves into the top bar. Color-key cards are not shown in the companion layout.
The top bar
The top bar holds global controls. From the left edge:

| Report a bug | A bug icon next to the wordmark. Opens a dialog where you describe an issue and attach a screenshot of the current screen. |
| Undo / Redo | Arrow buttons that reverse or reapply your recent edits. The keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y (or Cmd+Z and Cmd+Shift+Z). |
From the right edge:

| Access chip | Appears only when the current project is genuinely View only. Editors do not see a redundant access chip. Select it to open the project’s Members. |
| Writers live chip | Appears when other people are editing the script at the same time as you. |
| Revision selector | Appears only in Scripts. Shows the explicitly selected script revision and switches script reading/comparison context. Choose Menu to return to the centered picker. Breakdown, Crew, Schedule, and Reports follow the episode’s latest production-ready revision instead. |
| Episode selector | Appears only for TV Series projects. Switches the explicitly selected episode or returns to the centered picker with Menu. |
| Project selector | Shows the current project. Switching projects opens the centered episode/revision picker. The star sets your default project. |
| Credit badge | Your remaining AI credit balance. Select it to open billing. |

SceneItAll does not silently choose an episode. If one is not selected, the centered episode picker stays open and long lists scroll inside it. In Scripts, ordinary episode navigation opens the newest completed, non-archived revision, while a link that names an older revision stays on that exact revision. Feature Film and Short projects still resolve their hidden technical episode automatically. Downstream production sections resolve the latest production-ready revision by date without exposing a revision picker.
If a protected SceneItAll link sends you through sign-in, the app returns you to that same internal page after authentication, including its path and query settings. Invite links take priority, followed by shared-report links and then the protected page. Opening the sign-in page normally, without a pending link, takes you to the Dashboard. External return addresses are never accepted.
The account menu
Select your avatar to open the account menu. It shows your name and email, then:
- MCP Connection — opens the AI Connector settings (Account → AI Connector), where you get the server URL and setup snippet to connect an AI assistant and choose what it may do.
- Profile Settings — opens your profile, where you set your display name and language, sign out, or delete your account.
Notifications
The notification bell shows a red badge with the unread count. Select it to open a list of recent notifications, then select one to jump to the related content. Notifications cover events such as completed AI jobs, new proposals to review, comments and mentions, and credit-balance warnings.
The AI job status bar
When an AI job runs in the background — for example, element detection or a continuity check — a status bar appears below the top bar with the job’s progress. It disappears when the job finishes.
Switch theme
Select the theme toggle in the top bar to switch between light and dark mode. Your choice is saved and persists across sessions.
