Import scene timings from CSV

Use a CSV file to update Shooting Time and Screen Time for many scenes in one operation. The import is episode-scoped and matches rows to the latest production scene number, so you do not need to select scenes first.

Before you start

  • You are a project Owner or Admin and have armed Edit mode in Breakdown.
  • The selected episode has production-ready scenes.
  • Timing values in the CSV are whole minutes.

Download the template

  1. Open Breakdown → Breakdowns.
  2. Open Bulk actions and choose Import timings (CSV).
  3. In Bulk import timings (CSV), select Download CSV template.

The template contains one row per current scene and these columns:

Column Purpose
scene_number The scene to update. Required on every data row.
shooting_duration_minutes New Shooting Time in whole minutes.
scene_time_minutes New Screen Time in whole minutes.

Keep scene_number plus at least one timing column in the header. Leave a timing cell empty when that field should remain unchanged.

Preview and apply the import

  1. Fill in the template and save it as a .csv file.
  2. Return to Bulk import timings (CSV) and select Pick CSV.
  3. Select Preview changes.
  4. Review the Will update count, each before-and-after value, and any row errors.
  5. If the preview has errors, correct the CSV and select Pick another CSV. SceneItAll applies the batch only when every row is valid.
  6. Select Apply.

A success message reports how many scenes were updated, and the Breakdown reloads the new timing values. Rows whose values already match the scene are not included in the change count.

Fix common errors

  • Scene not found — make sure the number exactly matches a current scene in the selected episode.
  • Ambiguous scene number — update that scene individually; the CSV importer will not guess between duplicate production scene numbers.
  • No changes shown — confirm at least one timing cell contains a different whole-minute value.
